Stay Strong and Avoid Christmas Debt |
Going back five years - what gifts did you receive for Christmas?

is an extension of my book, Sick and Tired of Being Broke: The first steps on the road to financial independence for Everyday People. The book recounts the first steps on my journey to becoming debt-free and financially independent. I wrote the book for others like myself who grew up without the benefits of basic financial information. My hope is that together we will uncover the information that we need to set ourselves free - free from the bondage of debt.
Unfortunately, for most of us, basic financial information is not taught in schools. We live in a country that continues to pass out diplomas to people who lack healthy financial skills, creating a society not prepared to handle the financial ups and downs of everyday living. The road to financial freedom is paved with information; join me on my journey.

I like your blog. I created a link for one of your posts and it inspired me to write my own post. http://manicmondays123.blogspot.com/2010/10/journey-to-wealth-for-everyday-people.html
ReplyDeleteWould be interesting to poll people and ask what they got last year for Xmas. Most can't remember. The debt lingers, but people honestly don't remember what "they got" for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea! I will post that question today. Thanks Ava. Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

I am working to manage our finances differently. We were on top of things but due to numerous factors are buried in debt right now. Thankfully we did not take out money on our house when the market was booming so we are in great shape there. The other thing I do right is save every month for Christmas. I have a set amount I want to have saved and then I play a game with myself to see how little I can spend, through coupons and bargains, etc. and still have a really good Christmas.
