Financial information is the key to change.

Unfortunately, for most of us, basic financial information is not taught in schools. We live in a country that continues to pass out diplomas to people who lack healthy financial skills, creating a society not prepared to handle the financial ups and downs of everyday living. The road to financial freedom is paved with information; join me on my journey.

Advertisers Target Our Children

The Conditioner
One of the biggest threats to the future financial stability of our children is marketing companies and advertisers. Depending on their television exposure, our children can expect to watch at least 100 commercials a day, and more than 40,000 a year. Companies are spending about $17 billion a year targeting children between the ages of two and 17; one thirty-second commercial has the power to create brand preference in kids as young as two.

Up to 98% of televised ads targeted to children are for foods that are high in fat, sugar, or sodium.  Knowledge and parental guidance are powerful tools to use against the companies who want to take advantage of our children.  We also have the power to reduce their exposure to commercials, by simply turning "off" the television.
